CELL THERAPY COMMERCIAL SUPPLY CHAIN

How a U.S. biotech company established a global supply chain for a cell therapy with complicated and unique characteristics.

SITUATION

A U.S.-based cell therapy manufacturer hired Archbow to coordinate global supply chain logistics. The cell therapy product requires:

  • Multiple shipments frozen in LN2

  • Multiple cell lines warehoused at -150C

  • Logistical considerations with customs clearance

  • Order-to-cash

  • Quick order processing, shipping, and delivery

Archbow proactively researched critical path questions to develop an RFP and vet potential partners. Vendor site visits were conducted.

A best-practice project management plan was used to keep multiple vendors and customer stakeholders on two continents engaged through the vetting and selection process.

APPROACH

RESULTS

After compiling all data, results, and input, a supply chain partner network was established and contracted.

Supply chain vendor implementation is currently underway, along with:

  • A comprehensive Fair Market Value assessment

  • COE customer research

  • Ad Boards with global stakeholders
